Hi, folks!

Because I’m currently taking the opening exam(actually the final exams that were missed from the early holiday of last semester), the progress last week was relatively small.

Building debug mode Cpython

Building the debug mode Cpython is easy if you take the right step:

the cpython.dockerfile I modified has shared in this here, also diffchecker in here.

To summary:

  1. add with-pydebug option
  2. modify the config file to _sysconfigdata_d_linux_.py
  3. try it!

Detect the volk wasm-simd success built

As in the previous blog, there is a way to detect whether we succeed in building the wasm-SIMD version volk is dive into the output wasm file (With wasm2wat or wasm-objdump, we can have a look in deep). Here, the wasm2wat means translating to the human-readable format(wat).

Here is the step how I reproduce:

(You might need to clone wabt repo to build above 2 tools first)

Also, I recommend building another (pure and origin, you know, just cmake and make without other complex argument) volk library and do objdump to disassembly. Why? Compare the output.

I take a snippet below:(the first look same as neon intrinsic in my view)

          if ;; label = @4
            local.get 12
            f32x4.extract_lane 1
            local.set 4
            local.get 12
            f32x4.extract_lane 0
            local.set 5
            v128.const i32x4 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000
            br 1 (;@3;)
          end

Compare the output in webapp

Alright, and I am starting analysis the python.js and index.HTML, etc.. file (Here make an isolated file system, code line here).

Finally, I guess it maybe will be extended one month to achieve the expected result. Well, It’s my last year at my university, and I only have fewer classes. I believe I have enough time to go on if world peace(hahaha).
